IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please note, this is the first version of the Teaching about Migration course and is subject to change whilst we are in pilot. Please provide as much feedback as you can throughout the course. We will be using your comments to improve the course, and a new version will be released before September 2025.
This course covers an introduction to teaching about migration using a trauma-informed approach, including the tools, knowledge and resources you need to feel confident teaching about migration, even if you have young people with lived experience of migration in the room.
This course was made in collaboration with ambassadors from the VOICES Network, a collective of refugees and people seeking asylum. As people with lived experience of migration, the VOICES ambassadors share unique insights into what it’s like to seek asylum in the UK.
- Module one is available as either e-learning, a face to face group session or an online masterclass.
- Module two is an e-learning activity.
After completing the two learning modules, you will put your learning into practice with your students, using one or more of our teaching resources.
At the end of the course, you will be asked to indicate how many young people you will go on to teach. We will also contact you later to get feedback and ask how many young people you taught.
